OnePlus 9RT, with 50-megapixel primary shooter

Everyone kind of knew everyone that OnePlus would launch the OnePlus 9RT soon. Though there were some doubts until now, after Pete Lau posted on Weibo that they need a name change, it almost got official that the next phone is OnePlus 9RT. Now, OnePlus 9RT renders have leaked on Twitter, thanks to no one else other than Evan Blass. He tweeted out three photos that can get an excellent glimpse of the phone.

There is the signature OnePlus style red box, with the mention of ‘9RT’ in big, bold text, and then there are two more images that tell us a bit more about the phone.

The two photos show the left and right edge of the phone, alongside a glimpse of the back housing the camera module. The right edge of the phone seems to have the power button and the alert slider, while there are the volume rockers on the left. The design is strikingly similar to the OnePlus 9R.

The back of the phone holds the camera module where you can find three big lenses. There is a 50-megapixel primary shooter, as we can see that they have mentioned that on the camera module itself, so we can expect that the other two are wide-angle and macro lenses. The primary sensor could be a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor. The camera specifications match the earlier tips.

Some of the other details that we know so far are a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging alongside Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAMAs we revealed earlier, there are three colour variants- Dark Matter, Hacker Silver, and Blue Sky. The new OnePlus 9RT is expected to ship with Oxygen OS 12, based on Android 12. However, that could be different in China where it is expected to ship with ColorOS 12.

Though we don’t know when the phone will launch in India, according to a tipster, the OnnePlus 9RT will be priced between CNY 2,000 and CNY 3,000, which translates to Rs 23,200 and Rs 34,800, respectively. However, because the OnePlus 9RT is almost confirmed to come with a flagship chipset, superfast charging, and now when the 50-megapixel primary camera is also confirmed, we can be pretty sure that it would be priced at around Rs 30,000 for sure.
